Only 3 days to go until the end of the month and my target of £500 ($1,000) is looking within reach.
How I Plan to Double My Money Every Month
I paid £300 for items at auction which have now sold on eBay, hoping to get £400. The things finished at £390 which is only £10 down. Alltogether at the moment I have just over £470 which leaves me another £30 ($60) to find in the next 3 days to reach my target for the month.
To double the amount of money we have every month I need to sell 3 times a month on eBay and make 26% net profit each time.
Looking very possible!

Win the Lottery

Did you win the lottery this weekend?
No - of course not!
The lottery jackpot for Saturday night here in the UK was £18 million and I suspect more than 18 million people were pinning all their hopes and dreams on winning it.
I don't buy lottery tickets for 2 very good reasons:
1. It can seriously damage your wealth - see here Lottery Win Pension
2. While you have in the back of your mind that vain hope that you will one day win the lottery it can stop you making the decision to make yourself wealthy by other means.
Decide today that you are NEVER going to win the lottery and STOP buying tickets and wealth may come sooner than you expect.

The Secret & The Law of Attraction Works for Me!

Yesterday we had an unexpected expense - our car sprung a water leak. This resulted in a garage bill for just under £90. The thought that crossed my mind yesterday was "How are we going to find the money?". Then I forgot about it.
This morning I got up to find completely unexpected payments into our Paypal account for $190 for sales on Squidoo lenses. $190 once Paypal have taken out their cut = just under £90, exactly the amount of the garage bill.
A coincidence? Maybe, but I think it was the Secret working for me.
I am still watching the videos here A Good Start to The Day
every morning and I am sure that it helps.

Getting Past the First $10
Making a fortune online requires belief. How can you believe that you can make $100,000 or even $1,000,000 if you have never made even $0.01 online?
Once you are getting a regular online income the question on your mind changes from "Is it possible to make money online?" or "Can I make any money online?" to "How much can I make?".
Because I make $1,000 to $1,500 or even $2,000 a month every month from working on the internet (not including selling on eBay) my belief is high.
Three good, no cost, ways to get started and make that first $10, $100, or $1,000 are
1. Make some lenses on Squidoo (free) How to Make a Living on Squidoo
2. Get a Google Adsense account (free) and make some Xombytes & Xomblurbs on Xomba (free) Xomba
3. Join the Marketing Pond (free)sign-up to all the free programs and follow the simple instructions Marketing Pond
Why not do all three? Total cost to you NOTHING! $0.00! £0.00! Total profit you can make just by doing these three things = UNLIMITED!

New Streams of Income

My aim this year as well as building on existing streams of online income - eBay, Squidoo etc. is to find some new streams of income that I can build up.
One thing I tried last year was Paid to Read emails & gave it up very quickly as I didn't see how it was possible to make more than a dollar or two a month from doing it. It wasn't until I found Money List Profits that I realised I was doing it wrong!
I now believe PTR can be a very useful additional income stream and will be building it up to around £500 ($1000) a month over the next 2-3 months. If you would like to join me in this I will help you to do the same.

Every Penny Counts

Every penny really does count in this first month. I know that through the doubling every month principle, every penny extra I earn or find or save during January will become over £20 by the end of the year.
From reading the Double Your Way to a Million report and watching The Secret video I realised that if I find a coin in the street or just lying around, I should pick it up and add it to my 'pot' even if it is just a penny. If you ignore it and just walk past it you are giving out a clear message to the universe that you don't want money.
It is amazing how much cash you can find just lying around when you start looking for it. As well as in the street good places are in your car, down the back of the sofa and in the rubber seal around the washing machine door.
Finding a penny now is just as good as a £20 note in December - and I will gladly work for pennies now when I have nothing more profitable to do.

Shopping Every Day
I have discovered that there are numerous benefits to doing the grocery shopping daily and locally as opposed to a big weekly shop.
Firstly, we are spending less, a LOT less. I gave myself a £10 daily budget but so far I rarely spend more than £7 - £8 a day.
Walking to the shops and back every day is good for me - I am getting fitter and as one of my other goals for this year is to lose some weight, this can only be good.
I am having to plan meals in advance so the "I don't know what we're going to eat tonight, let's ring out for pizza" scenario just doesn't happen.
We are drinking much less alcohol as that bottle of wine or case of beer looks a lot less appealing when I have to carry it home.
We are eating more healthily as I have to think about what we are eating each day.
Much less food is getting wasted as there are no impulse buys to go out of date in the fridge and get thrown out.
As I am taking advantage of all the BOGOF (buy one get one free) offers on things that we buy regularly, from next week I should be able to have one day a week when I don't need to go shopping as I will have built up a small stock.
By shopping this way I will be saving £15-£25 a week from even my low budget, which will go into the savings account.

Money in the Mail!
It is so nice to get cheques (checks), cash, vouchers and other good things in the mail.
Today I received a cheque from Clickbank for $260.04 - this is commission for Clickbank products sold on my Squidoo lenses from 16th November to 16th December 2007.
Again this goes towards the $1,200 monthly online income I need before I can start putting any of this into the savings account. This takes the total received for January so far to $828.98.
I also received £20 in Marks & Spencers vouchers as a thank-you for a small insurance policy I took out last year. These are going to a family member as a belated Christmas gift.

Squidoo Payday!
It's Squidoo payday again. This is our share of the revenue generated by Adsense ads, eBay and Amazon sales made from our lenses during November.
We have 5 accounts between us and this month got paid a total of $517.90
Most of the money we make from Squidoo comes not from these direct payments but from sales of affiliate products we make from our lenses (mainly Commission Junction and Clickbank products).
This money doesn't go into the savings account as it is part of the $1,200 a month of internet income that we need to go into the household budget.

Spending Less as well as Making More
To achieve my goals this year I am going to have to spend less as well as make more money.
One way I am doing this is by cutting out the weekly 'big shop' at the supermarket and doing the grocery shopping daily for just what we need for each day. I am allowing myself a budget of £10 a day in cash - on a normal weekday there are 3 of us plus a cat to feed, but at weekends and holidays this can increase to 7 or 8 when all the family are at home. Anything left out of the grocery budget at the end of the week goes into the savings account.

Double Your Way to a Million
I first read the Double Your Way to a Million Plan (starting with nothing) several months ago - started it following the rules strictly, and got as far as £0.75 before deciding it was far too slow for me.
You Can Get Your Copy of The Free Report Double Your Way to a Million Here
I am now following the general doubling principles but with the intention of doubling my money every month and concentrating on one month at a time.
So:
by the end of January I will have $1,000
by the end of February I will have $2,000
by the end of March I will have $4,000
by the end of April I will have $8,000
by the end of May I will have $16,000
by the end of June I will have $32,000
by the end of July I will have $64,000
by the end of August I will have $128,000
by the end of September I will have $256,000
by the end of October I will have $512,000
by the end of November I will have $1,024,000
by the end of December I will have $2,048,000
Which exceeds my target by about $748,000!
I know that the first few months can be achieved by investing in antiques, jewellery & collectibles to sell on ebay and turning them over 3 times a month at 25%-30% profit each time. For now I will not worry about anything except achieving my $1,000 target for the end of January - and I am half way there already!

eBay & A Good Start to The Day
eBay & A Good Start to The Day
My ‘stuff’ finished on eBay last night. As I said before I was hoping for at least £100 but in the last few minutes a bidding war started on one of my items for sale and the total finished at £192.29. After Paypal deducted their fees and postage was added on I received a net total of £198.51. Once I have paid the postage I should be left with just over £185.
My target for January is to have $1,000 (£500) in cash or assets (stuff to sell on eBay) by 31st January. With the £185 from yesterday and the £65 I already have in the account I am already half way to my target for the first month.
I plan on investing the £250 in more stuff to sell on eBay probably at a local auction sale which takes place next Monday (14th).
A Good Start to The Day
For this year’s project, I am receptive to believe in anything that may help me towards my goal for the year. I am watching some affirmations videos first thing in the morning, every day. I read that anything you do 30 times becomes a habit so by the end of the month watching these videos every day will be a habit for me.

The First Few Days
I decided to do this a few weeks ago so I have had time to think about it and do some preparation.
First I opened a new Instant Access Savings Account – I like the sort with a book so that you can see the balance rising. Into this I put £65 which we were given as a Christmas gift. I am going to add any additional money we make over and above our usual income, any money we are given and any other money we ‘find’ to this account.
I listed a few bits and pieces (mainly jewellery) that were lying around the house, for sale on eBay. eBay is one of my major plans for this year. I like antiques, collectibles and jewellery as they are easy to sell and make a good profit on eBay. The bits & pieces I have on sale at the moment finish tomorrow night (Sunday 6th Jan) and have bids so far of around £35. I hope to make £100 from these to add to the £65 and I will use it to buy more ‘stuff’ to sell on eBay.
I also plan on increasing my existing online income ‘streams’ and adding new ones.
Most of the $1,200 a month I make at the moment comes from Squidoo, by selling affiliate products.

The Beginning
From Debt to Wealth in 2008 – Online!
The Million Dollar Blog
The Starting Point
I am in the UK so talk in £GBP however as $USD is the language of the internet I try to think in dollars. For the purposes of this blog I will take it that $2 = £1 which is close enough.
Where I am now – 1st January 2008
Joint debts with my SO (significant other) £125,000 ($250,000) – 4 children, living in a rented house with no assets. SO earns enough each month to pay essential living expenses except for £600 ($1200) which coincidentally is precisely the amount I am making online each month as at December 2007.
Where I intend to be – 31st December 2008
All debts either fully paid off or negotiated out of by 1st July and 1 Million Dollars (£500,000) in the bank by 31st December.
A Huge Goal but 3 things I have make it achievable I believe –
1. Virtually unlimited time – this is my full-time job for the year
2. Every penny I make (over and above the existing $1,200 per month) will be used to create more money – I will not spend a penny of it.
3. Persistence & Determination – I will not quit!
This blog is to be my diary to keep track of how I get on this year, read it or not as you wish.
